Facilitator: Kyla Ellis
This class will teach you the basic principles of empowerment through self-defense. All ages welcome. Kyla and her husband Clayton teach combat Go-ju Ryu, a true traditional japanese martial arts. They are kid-focused and adult-savvy. They will teach you basic technique and educate you in the Martial Arts way: Respect, Self-Confidence and Discipline. Bring the entire family!

Description:
The world of herbal medicine has much to offer in the way of supporting pain relief. Tincture, teas, liniments and compresses are easy and inexpensive to make. We will cover various ways to use common herbs such as ginger, chamomile, turmeric and cloves to help soothe many types of pain.

Facilitator: Kathleen Healy
Description:
For children all of ages. Singer-songwriter Kathleen Healy will orient the class to the level of the participants. She will guide older children through a poetry writing exercise and help them develop it into a song. Kathleen Healy is a singer/songwriter/poet living right here on Cape Cod and Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Chestnut Hill College in Pennsylvania. She has collaborated with visual artist Moira Swiatkowski to publish her original song entitled Clouds as a children’s book accompanied by a 12-song CD. Kathleen is the creative movement teacher at the Harwich Junior Theatre, a trained Music Together teacher with Meryl’s Music and Arts Centers in Harwich, and the preschool music and movement specialist at the Laurel School in Brewster.

Description:
This class will cover some of the basic foundation of B-girlism or B-boys. Unruly children will be asked to leave so parents need to be close by if your child has behavioral problems.This is done so that the students are able to receive maximum benefits from such a compressed class,in a safe and fun way.

Description:
In this dance class we trace the fundamentals of movement in gravity from pre-human to infant to toddler, explore the individual spatial planes and bring them into spherical relationship in interaction with others. Then we use this foundation for experimentation with expressive qualities and gesture structured by specific words. Finally we make group mini improvisational dances structured by specific phrases. No ‘dance experience’ required.

Becky Burrill
I am a dancer, artist, and educator. I am certified in Elementary Ed and have a Doctorate in Education focusing on child development, movement, art-making, and learning. I work with learning as a creative process, and with aesthetic sense as primary in the development of self, intelligence and well being. I trace the evolution of human intelligence back to our original relationship with Nature, through which we developed language and art. In this I seek to renew our engagement with the primary creative intelligences of movement, sound, feeling, imagination and ecological conscious and their natural healing capacities.

Alicia Mathewson
Alicia is a Singer, Healer, & Teacher. Owner of Sounding Still Wellness, she uses her voice, wisdom, & creativity to help people awaken to their true nature and be happy. Diane Kovanda
Diane M.Ed has been practicing hatha yoga for over 25 years. She is the founder and dire, tor of training at Kind Yoga School. The curriculum at Kind Yoga School is based in Hatha Yoga with a focus on ahimsa and karuna, which cultivates a profound respect and compassion for the self and others. She is also the co-founder of Calm Warrior, providing criminal justice professionals with stress reduction and decompression tactics. Jenny Wood
Jenny got her Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Studies, from Dartmouth College in 1990. After traveling extensively, and exploring ancient healing methods, she graduated in 1996 with a Master of Acupuncture degree from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute [now TAI-Sophia]. In early 1998 become a certified yoga teacher and followed her heart to Cape Cod. She graduated from the White Pine Healing Arts Chinese herb program, at that time, where she studied mental disorders, obesity, pediatrics, cancer and gynecological disorders with her mentors. She is licensed by the Medical Board of Massachusetts and nationally certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Ruby Corrigan Anastasio
Ruby has been a practicing doula for 11 years. She is also a home and hospital birth mother of four. As a doula, she has experience in hospital, birthing center and home birth settings. She supports women's choices, whatever they may be. Her motto is, "Your Birth, Your Experience". Doulas are birth helpers, who support moms during birth and post-partum by helping to create the kind of environment they want and need. Doulas attend to the birthing mother in ways she desires, and provide services, such as meal preparation which allow families more bonding time.

Kyla Ellis
Sensei Kyla and Sensei Clayton Ellis are both 2006 international world cup Champions and Hall of Famers. Both Began training with Grand Master Lord Utmost in 2002. And have been teaching for almost 5 years.

Eliza Travisano
Eliza is a community herbalist who has been managing an herbal apothecary on Cape Cod for the last 10 years. She began studying herbs 15 years ago on her own and In 2008 completed a 500 hour community herbalist training with 7Song at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine. She teaches classes and workshops about herbs in various locations.


Kathleen Healy
Kathleen Healy is a singer/songwriter/poet living right here on Cape Cod where she hosts singer/songwriter open mic nights regularly in Dennis. Kathleen has appeared locally both as a solo performer and as a member of a folk quartet. She earned a B.A. in German & English Journalism from the University of New Hampshire and a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Chestnut Hill College in Pennsylvania. She has collaborated with visual artist Moira Swiatkowski to publish her original song entitled Clouds as a children’s book accompanied by a 12-song CD.
